The quiet and eerie Warsaw airport

Before I say my goodbyes and see-you-laters, I wanted to share a video I shot at the Warsaw Chopin Airport.

You know how airports are usually such busy, stressful places full of people running around with their big suitcases? Well, Warsaw’s airport was quite the opposite a week ago. It was really eerie there, and hardly a soul was to be found past the check-in desks. Even the lounge was empty aside from two business men.

I don’t know, it felt a little weird to me. I guess in a way the quiet airport represented this project winding down and coming to an end.

What would you prefer, a busy airport or an eerie one?

Weird, indeed! What time it was, Mirva?

This was in the evening on a Saturday night, around 7 p.m.!

    what time was it?

I absolutely prefer a busier airport. Not over crowded though ;) I just prefer to have more people running around, a livelier atmosphere.

It was around 7 p.m. on a Saturday, which may explain the quietness. I guess most people prefer to be out partying or at home watching a movie on a Saturday night rather than flying!

Hehe, thanks! :) The music definitely makes it seem even more eerie than in real life. :P

it really looks like there is nobody there. I agree, Saturday does not belong to the busiest days at airports : ) It means, that this will be enough for Warsaw for many years and building any additional terminals here is not necessary now : ). But be sure, that during the summer season and on other days there are much more people, hehe : ).

Funny. As others, I prefer it with a bit more people. But not extremely, though.

Great choice of music for this clip.

Mirva, the video is great and together with the music it seems that everybody else left the planet earth and you were the only one around trying to find the solution to save the planet…

Somehow it reminded my about my flight to South America when I stayed in tranfer for 3 hours at Miami aiport until 12.00 pm when everything was closed and the other passengers came in just in time. I wondered if I would be the only passenger on my flight ;)

Actually my flight was pretty empty, so maybe everyone else had indeed left the planet(or at least Warsaw)…hehe.

I once stayed in Miami Airport overnight, and it definitely got really quiet and eerie there too. I was sleeping on the floor of one of the totally abandoned floors, which was great as there was nobody around to make noise. :)
